ATHLETE IMPRESSED SWARTLAND BUSINESSMAN

Mornay Erasmus, a Darling businessman, was so impressed with Abigail Fortuin, (16 years) two times South African cross country athlete's performance in the 21.1 km Velocity half marathon, that he sponsored her a pair of running shoes of her choice after the race.

Abigail used the race as a practice, as there was no 5km or 10km race. She unofficially ran 13km in 80 minutes, and it was also her first time participating in a marathon.

The marathon took place on Saturday, December 14. 2019,

Abigail was spoiled a second time by the businessman in his shop with a "rooster brood hamburger", and she even received pocket money.  Erasmus encouraged the athlete to work hard on her sports career as he once was an athlete as well.
